rotors & fork seals
my right front fork is leaking, no burrs, no dirt visibly in the seals, so im guessing they are just worn out. 26k+ miles. i was thinkin of taking the forks to racetech since they are an hour away, either that or drop it off at the local dealer.
only problem is racetechs price (if i added right) is the same as the dealer price. the dealer i can drop it off, racetech i need to bring just the forks. i dont have a front stand, or rafters to hang the bike from, so how do you guys support the bike . rotors what do u guys think of these? rotors

pick up a front stand, you wont regret it. (get a tripple tree stand if you're removing the forks obviously)
I usually dont trust after market parts that keep me from slamming into a wall at 80mph unless they are name brand or have seen first hand their performance. if they're trying to imitate wave rotors look, i can only imagine their priority wasnt on performance. but still i doubt they're worse than a bad or warped oem rotor. |

i figure as cheap as they are, someone has tryed em. mine are nearing the service limit, but i didnt want to be the guinea pig if some here has already tryed em and they suck lol
the way i see it, triple tree stand is last resort, hate to spend 150+ just to use it once and then sit in a corner

ladder idea is awesome, i knew i was missing something lol-hopefully my ladder is tall enough.
na i cant use the jack idea, i dont have bottom framerails. no one has tryed or heard of someone whos tryed those rotors eh? im leaning towards no if i cant get firsthand exp,, but it could be a gd deal. tigs/al's fairings were so called "cheap chinese made" and his shit looks damn good.

If you're going to take them to Racetech might as well have them revalve it too (unless you're already happy with how it is)

A-frame ladder + tie downs = suspend the front. WIN!

As mentioned already, an a frame ladder works great.
I always used Pro Action to rebuild my forks and shock every season on my dirt bikes. They are fast, very reasonable, and I was very happy with their quality of work. You are in So Cal right? Check them out. http://www.pro-action.com/ |
