DC Comics' Green Lantern is now gay
DC Comics' Green Lantern is now gay
Published June 01, 2012 New York Post One of DC Comics oldest heroes is super-coming out. The original Green Lantern - a DC Comics mainstay for the past 70 years - will be revealed to be a gay man in next week's issue of "Earth 2." Alan Scott - formerly a married father of two who first appeared in 1940 - tips readers off to his sexuality early on in the comic when he gives his boyfriend a welcome home kiss. "He's very much the character he was. He's still the pinnacle of bravery and idealism. He's also gay," "Earth 2" writer James Robinson told The Post. The Emerald Guardian's sexuality was rebooted along with the rest of his fictional universe as part of DC's "New 52" initiative aimed at rejuvenating their characters. Robinson said he decided to make the change because making the character young again meant erasing Scott's gay superhero son out of existence. "The only downside of his being young was we lose his son, Obsidian, who's gay. So I thought, 'Why not make Alan Scott gay?'" Robinson recalled. "That was the seed that started it." He ran his idea by the bosses at DC, "who signed off on it without hesitation." http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...#ixzz1wYauo5Jt

In the headline pictures they keep showing the wrong damn Green Lantern, as if there were no difference.
It is ironic, however. Alan Scott used to be afraid of wood.

See? This is what I'm talking about. They keep showing pictures of Hal Jordan, but the newly gay GL is Alan Scott. Totally different people. Jordan is part of the Green Lantern Corps, Scott is a one-man wolf pack. Apparently, Scott doesn't even have a lantern anymore, which boggles my mind, but whatever...

Is this what I miss out on by not reading comic books?
What issue will be the bukkake issue? Might buy it to bring to the Rainbow Bus club meet on the 18th. |

imagine the big green dildo he can imagine to rape supervillains in the ass. I think I would rather go get beat up by Superman and Batman than go fuck with Green Lantern now.
All the villains will leave his area to protect.

They cheated. They made it a Green Lantern from Earth Two. It's not main continuity, so who gives a shit. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are dead in this storyline. Alan Scott could use his powers to blow dudes and nobody would care, because if there's any backlash whatsoever, DC can just claim it's in an alternate universe and doesn't represent the main stories.

How do you guys know all this stuff?
And you should know by now that comic book authors will totally change the story as many times as they like. Witness Spiderman and Superman. |
