It depends... will state & local law enforcement be lining up for the ticket revenue?

It's in Virginia - don't know about the rest of you but that's the last place I would ever consider speeding.

SRSLY

They'll string you up for 10 over. Over 80mph is automatically reckless driving, even where the speed limit is 70! Fuck that noise!

I think the speed limit on that road is still 45 or 55, a speed you could only maintain speed for part of one corner.

Until they wise up and ratchet down the speed limit like Tennessee did on 129, anyway.

I have heard virginia is one of the worst states for speeders. it sounds like a great idea and would make the trip to the gap a lot more fun/bearable but amonster speeding ticket from an over zealous VA cop isnt worth it.

I've always enjoyed that stretch of road more than Deal's Gap, mostly because the traffic was sparse. There goes that...

If they're going to start advertising it though, they need to spend some serious resources upgrading the road. As much as I enjoy riding it, its lack of a paved shoulder results in gravel in MANY of the turns, especially downhill rights.

We moved the annual rally for the TLR site from DG to Marion in 2003 for this very reason. Then it got to where they'd repave with tar and gravel, then paint like 6 months later.
