Default Calling all SoCal friends

So I just got an email back from one of the companies I applied to, and I dont know if they are blowing smoke or not, but I am really getting amped up in my search. Honestly I really dont know much about the area. I know more about west LA than east LA though.

So, what does everybody think of Culver City or Marina del Rey? I've also been looking in WeHo a bit, and surprisingly the prices aren't that different.

Any suggestions of places to look in to, or places to avoid???

Thanks!

We should all live in Maryland instead. Now there's excitement.

Hey now, I grew up in Maryland and it is exciting if you like dodging bullets

Anyways, don't know where you will work but if it were me I would be looking at La Canada or Woodland Hills, but depends on where the job is because traffic can get slightly heavy up there

Fuck no dude, there are plenty of places better than this, but pretty much what Mr Lifts said, Mexicans, earthquakes, traffic, mudslides, fires, and it all adds up to the fact that god does not like that place.

Try Norcal, Texas, the south east (not FL), NY, New England. Socal, its gonna brake off pretty soon and turn Nevada into beachfront property

Traffic might be bad, but it really isn't any worse than DC or Chicago. Mudslides and fires are isolated to a very few neighborhoods. NorCal is more expensive than SoCal, and is more due for an earthquake.

Don't listen to this guy, Texas sucks ball. I've been here 28 years, so I'd know.

Parts of Culver City are rather run-down and frankly not all that charming at all. Marina Del Rey also has some run-down areas, but Playa Del Rey has some nice apartment complexes for rent. From Marina Del Rey/Playa Del Rey, you can take the backroads to all the beaches.
