Default [FZR Taillight] Help........

I cannot remember which forum it was on....but someone told me their friend (?) modified the taillight on their FZR so the light was flush with the body. I cannot for the life of me remember if it was someone on this forum or somewhere else. If anyone has any idea what I am talking about...HELP! I want to push the light in to make it look cleaner. Thanks!

What it looks like now...

Take the lens off and see what sort of clearance you have from the bulb to the surface of the light... hack the lens accordingly... I'd leave at least a 1/2" cause those bulbs get hot...

take off the rear plastics and take a couple pics... I'm sure ya could figure it out... more than likely you just cut the lens... but they may have just moved the entire mount back into the tail...

but like OSP said... leave room cause the bulbs will melt that lens pretty quick (or switch to LEDs)

Okay...so I opened the bike up and found a really simple (and free) minor change that could be made.

The taillight has these little bumpers that were facing fat side to the back...

Once flip-flopped...

It sits a bit more inwards...

Before-After

I wish it was completely flush but it was free!

Oh yeah...and I took off some extra weight while I was at it.
