The less Alien the better IMO. I mean really, how many movies need to rehash the whole "alien takes over a human body" shtick.

Normally, I'd agree. Everything after Aliens was shit. But, with Ridley Scott back at the helm, things looked promising. Then they ditched the Aliens bits and dropped it to a PG13 rating. Still interested because the framework for what he had originally planned is still there, and it looks like the Space Jockeys are in it, but it kind of looks like they ditched the regular alien xenomorph for some kind of slime that gets inside of you. I'm hoping it's not just a poor substitute.

Finally got out to see Prometheus. Ive got it all worked out. The starmaps do indeed point to a planet that is used as a military installation. This is because Humanity is an illegitimate creation, the ultimate taboo, slaves and playthings for a corrupt official who eventually became bored with his toys. Once the secret broke the homeworld punished 225 with the release of bio-weapons, humans are assumed to have taken ourselves out. The survivor is of the second faction and moves (clumsily) to rectify that mistake.

I was very disappointed to see a classic scene from enemy mine ripped off so blatantly. And anyone who thinks the Prometheus is anything but a firefly with a couple more engines is a blithering idiot
