Another scam artist
OK, so I post my canoe on craigslist (don't use it enough and need the $$$). Couple of hours later I get an email:
Quote:
"yup, I've got it. What do you need to know?" and I get this: Quote:
"Where do you want it shipped?" And just like the punch line from a good comedian..... Quote:
1) A canoe in Nigeria?????? 2) How, if they deposit to my paypal account, can they scam me? My guess is that before they make the deposit to my paypal account they want some sort of deposit from me to assure them that I'll send the item..... Other ideas?

I gave him/her/them my paypal account, i.e. my email address. You can have it too if you would like. Thing is, they'll never get the password.

If 'he' pays via PayPal, then it will be a hijacked account. You'll end up losing, somewhere along the line.
My guess is that at some point he's going to switch gears on you. It'll be payment through his escrow service or pre-payment via cheque/money order. It'll be an over payment so that you can "pay a third party" that he "owes money to in the US." The method of payment will be a forgery. Last edited by Papa_Complex; 11-20-2008 at 11:10 AM.. |
