So tell me more about video cameras and mounts for our bikes
I'm trying to help my buddy's wife who wants to purchase a video cam setup for his bike, she does not want him to know since it will be a surprise and she asked if I could pick one out but I have no personal experience so I told her I would seek advice here.
Are bike mounted cameras better than helmet mounted it would seem it would provide more stability???? Post pics of your setup. |

Azoomm and I both have this: http://www.goprocamera.com/
There's also the lipstick cams that you can just hook up to a regular video camera and mount to your helmet or the side of your bike (but that would require having the camera itself in your tank bag).

After seeing some of these bullet cameras in action around the gap, the best quality and all in one package is the go pro cameras. They give you the best bang for the buck. They also produce very very nice vids, better than a lot of video cameras. The link archen provides is good place to start.

Yep,I just ordered mine for $169 (retail $199) from Ron Ayers. I got the wide but they also have a standard lenses set-up. To me you can't beat it! Most flash camcorders cost at least $300 and then you have to figure out a mount...hey I posted about this last fucking week!!!http://www.twowheelfix.com/showthread.php?t=5939 Last edited by Amber Lamps; 02-17-2009 at 09:23 PM.. |

I'm hoping to get the GoPro in 2 to 3 weeks. I mountain bike, road bike, kayak, motorcycle, and will be getting into rock climbing soon. So the GoPro is perfect for me. I need to find a cheap place to get it other than Ebay.
But I did have a rigged up camera to my motorcycle. Took a cue stick holder and then hacksawed the middle of the foam. I had a skinny Sony Cybershot that I'd place in the slot and tape down with electrical tape. Here is the mount by the gas cap... And here is vid from it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UffB6Yt6aR8

The GoPro cameras are definitely the best going right now IMO.
Here's one I did, suction cup mount to my speedo which is rubber mounted so not totally solid but the windshield is doing most of the vibration and causing all the glare. This is actually bad for what the camera can do. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=40048829
