I definitely am not getting a storm. it just seemed cool at first when it was first coming out but after so many people having problems with it, it got crossed off my list months ago. I would see friends who have it and ask them what they think and they're answer would be "eh, it's fine." A phone like that shouldnt have that kind of reaction. It SHOULD blow you away. And if it doesn't, there's something wrong.

Have you tried 5.0.0.192? I heard the camera, BBM, and Facebook is fucked up on it, but that the rest of the phone is everything the Storm was advertised as and more. I don't know if I could live without the camera, but I hope this is a good sign of things to come.

I have had phones similar to all three of those. I had an HTC touch pro and couldn't wait to get rid of it. Windows mobile sucked awfully. I had an xv6900 which is similar to the ozone. If it doesn't have a keyboard don't consider it. iPhone people don't flip out--the reason the iPhone no-key keyboard works is because the keyboard is capacitive and most others are not. I have a storm and I have a tour for work. The tour is nice--would be better with wifi, but other than that I quite like it. Blackberry can build the Storm MCMLXVII and I wouldn't buy no matter what.
I would wait because if the Motorola android devices are delivered this year they may be worth the wait. The verizon device is code named Shules and can be seen a the Boy Genius report. Motorola is betting the farm on Android to save the handset division before they split the company in two. If it bombs they may not get another chance. http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/...torola-shules/ Last edited by zer0t; 09-07-2009 at 10:18 PM.. |

Im a Verizon guy because I think they have the best coverage and service but I hate the way they cripple phone features. An Android phone on Verizon sounds great but I wonder if it would still be as open as other Android phones.

Verizon has reversed this policy because of how much they lost by turning down the iphone because of this policy. They are slowly becoming the most open phones on the market. They aren't blackballing apps for stupid reasons and pretty much allowing anything on the market now. Their OS approval policy is still slow, but they are working on streamlining that too. I think an Android phone on Verizon would be just as open as any phone. The next gen blackberries are going to have wifi, that use to be unspeakable on Verizon.

yeah, you had to use the crappy Verizon OS for so long, it made you hate verizon. They are now pretty good about phone options now. I can get tetherberry to bypass their tethering option, I can do pretty much anything bypassing their verizon store options on the phone like ringtones and such. It's much nicer now. All that crap use to be pay.
