did he start with the hard case as a back rest and eventually move away from it? I can see that making things a bit easier

Yea, but I had a mini backrest on my FZ1 and I have a sissy bar on my Magna.

I think I started at about 4 with my father. I was sitting on the front and using the Crankcase as a footrest. For some reason, it never melted my shoes

Just took my middle daughter riding for her first time this year, she's 11..she's got her own helmet now, always wanting me to take her to school on it..my oldest daughter(14) hasnt mentioned wanting to ride
