I would guess this was mandated by, or aimed at pleasing, emission sensitive EU countries.

When I was in Malaysia, all the scooters at intersections would que up in front of the trucks and taxis in huge packs, revving away while waiting for the light to change. The resulting cloud of smoke was actually quite impressive.

Personally, I would hate it. I've seen too many people rear ended after stalling at a light, and as far as I'm concerned, this is just one more thing to fuck up when you least expect it.

I'm not crazy about the idea either but golf carts have been doing the same thing for decades pretty successfully.

With an electric motor...

I guess the real reason I don't like it, is because I don't know how it works.

I almost inserted the word "gas" before golf cart but I thought that went with out saying.

Gas golf carts shut down at idle and restart with application of the go pedal.

I'm pretty sure all electric motors shut down when stopped.

Never drove a gas golf cart.

Probably because I golf with Frisbees, and the trails aren't wide enough.

Watch your mouth there, Jesus.

Around here, they'll crucify you for referring to discs as Frisbees.

interesting but as said, gas golf carts been doing it forever. I will say, at least they did some nice engineering features on that scooter.

Where is he? Asia somewhere...

Fuck em.

It's round, it's flat, you throw it, it flies, it's a fucking Frisbee.
