I have yet to get one to level 70, and now the max has been upped to 80.
Don't even get me started on how little of the high level content I've done.
As you say, it does require a lot of time commitment and more attention span than I have. I usually grind for a while, make a bunch of levels, then get burned out when the leveling pace slows down.

That just doesn't work for me. I've watched friends get into that shit hardcore, but it does absolutely zero for me. Though I've been wasting an insane amount of time playing FFIV on the DS. The game holds up remarkably well over the years, and the graphics update and additional content is pretty damn sweet.
