I won't be buying one...can't afford it but yes I'd rock it in a heartbeat. Quote:
That's why I bought a completely stock C5 Z06 sitting in a guys garage back in 2002 with 9k miles on it...at a good price. Every mod the car now has...blower...cam...intake...full exhaust...rear gears...clutch...lightened flywheel...shifter...lowered...etc...came AFTER I bought it. I couldn't afford to buy a Lingenfelter model so I bought parts here and there and ended up with about the same thing and love it....BUT at the end of the day no...it's not an actual Lingenfelter model...but I have a lot less $$ in it for basically the same thing. My supercharger...boost gauge and longtube headers were taken off of a Z06 at Lingenfelter and shipped to me. The rich guy that owned it decided it wasn't fast enough so he had them take it out and send it to me and went to a 427 TT. *edit* My reference to "the rich guy" is based on the fact that he also had a Ferrari and a huge house in Chicago and $$ seemed to be no issue with him. He gave me a great deal on the supercharger. Last edited by z06boy; 09-17-2008 at 02:27 PM.. |

Ok since I've been involved in "Vette talk" in a thread about the 09 R1 I feel obligated to at least contribute to the original topic.
I don't really know if I like the new R1...performance #'s will help...I'm not too crazy about the look but maybe it will grow on me but so far I like my 07 better. Here are some chopped pics of the 09...looks a lot better with some work to the undertail/exhaust area. The front is still hurting though. Added accents to the seat... |

I guarantee the first new R1 I see in black race plastics with a couple slick parts on it, I'm going to blow my load all over the place.

i'M CURIOUS TO SEE HOW THE TRACK 'GLASS MAKERS WORK AROUND THE HEADLIGHTS. iT'S NOT LIKE IT'S A SEALED LENS they can just make a mold over, you know? But they still have to leave the area for the intake in tact.

It's not a race car...plenty of cars around putting out bigger #'s but it sure is a fun car and since 2002 and about 44k miles very reliable. It's good for about 500 rwhp and close to that in tq. It weighs a little over 3000 lbs which isn't bad. |
