Local Army/Navy store (not a big-box store) carries 'em around here though they're more expensive. Maybe check there?

Probably a semi-auto like a 10/22. Semi-autos can be picky about what they feed. However, I was wondering the same thing... Remington makes several different types of 22lr rounds... some of them have to work.

Could be, but all over the web people are saying don't even bother with Remington ammo on the gun.

Anything short of their Eley line never really rated well with the paper punchers anyway. That American Eagle (either the AE22 or AE5022) is as good as you need for plinking and rates pretty well for accuracy & reliability.

It's been a few years since I've gone plinking, but I know for a fact that I've run a few thousand Remington shells through my 22 with no problems in the past. That was a while ago, though . . . maybe things have changed.

This is good to know. We bought a new toy this weekend... it's something to teach the girls and plink rodents at the track. Y'all should come play sometime.

Primarily because of their selection and good service. (wasn't so great during the peak of the Great Gun & Ammo Grab of 2008-2009, but it's better now)
