We haven't gotten very many sportbikes for trades this year so I haven't had a lot to choose from. On the cruisers, none of them really stand out compared to my VTX other than the Yamaha Raider. I did get to take our demo home one night and put about 40 miles on it on familiar roads. If I wanted another cruiser I'd be trading for one of them. That is one sweet ride for a cruiser!

The '05 Concourse was, interesting I guess. Decent power for it's weight and it is heavy. I hit the interstate w/ it and the wind from the trucks had it wagging its ass like a happy dog at 85-90 mph. Kind of unsettling, but wasn't so bad at 65-70. It was weird because I couldn't feel the bike lean or push as a whole, just the back wagging back and forth. It put off a lot of heat behind the shield and fairing also, would suck in the summer. I want to take a new Connie for a decent test ride. I've ridden one in the parking lot but that's it.
I like the Raider. Good looking bike. Never rode on though.

oh shit i just saw you said 05. would it be a sufficient tourer though?
Yeah, it was the old connie, it was ok but I'm sure the new one is much better handling at speed. The old one would make a good tourer other than the heat it puts off. It was a comfortable seating position, just an old design that I'm sure is much improved in the '08 model. I hope I can take a new one out soon and compare the two on comfort and how hot the motor is.

Marco, try one out if you get the chance. The handling is excellent considering the rake, nice and light steering, in the turns it's very neutral. No fighting to keep it from falling in or leaning back out of the turn. I was seriously impressed with the bike and it looks good as hell to boot The new 1900cc motor is incredible. Max torque is at 2500 rpm and that makes it responsive in any gear at nearly any speed. I slowed to down to 40 in 5th gear and hit the gas and it just took off. I'd have one in the garage too if I could.

Wanted to demo one this summer at a bike show...but demo's were done for the day when I got there. Maybe next year.

well for me they were very aggressive, the only other bike i can think of that was that aggressive was my buddy's old r1. then again i am also a very big guy...in height and weight. the more i rode the 675 the more comfortable i became on it. i'd say try and find someone who has one or go to a triumph dealer and sit one to make up your mind

We await more reviews. The new one sure is sexy to be a big ass bike. I like them and the big yama. Saw the yami at clarks hill lake with a duc and the guy said it had really nice handling and decent enough to play with the duc on their ride but 10xxxx more comfy. Couple of cool guys he had a stable also just decided to take the fjr that day. No posers they did track days and praised me for starting small. Wish I had gotten their number to link up later.

I have ridden an 05 FJR for a couple miles, friend of mine has it but we havn't gotten to go riding together long enough for me to get to swap out. On the short ride I could tell it was very comfortable for me, plenty of power and handled good without actually trying it in some twisties.

Are you actualy looking for a touring bike or just curious about them?

Still, I'll wait to get my FZ1 when I can cause I just can't ride a supersport for any length or time comfortably. I do like the trade ins though cause I get to test ride them if it's something I want to ride. Did a shakedown on an 05 Concourse the other day for the techs since they were busy, not bad. I think the new ones would ride much better but haven't gotten a chance to ride one yet. Done test rides on a few R6's that are awesome handling bikes.

We'll see what's next.
Eric - what dealership do you work at? As in, what makes do you guys sell?
