for you future nurses, Z found it easier to get into a BSN prog. then an RN program. more competition for just RN programs.

Now for scholorships, do they just give you check that you can do whatever you want with, or does it get applied to you tuition?
It depends on the scholarship. Some do specify that you use them for books or tuition. Most though are used to help you get through school, gas, food, housing, whatever. Personally I used them for anything I needed to get me through school meaning all of the above. I did keep a rning list of what I used each one for. Just be sure to write them thank you letters. Good Luck!

Also reasearch grants. There are some out there but you have to work to find them.

Ask the Financial Advisor. The college probably has a file of scholarship descriptions you can sort through and make copies of their applications. It's probably all online now....I must be getting old.

You might also check with hospitals in your area and see if they offer any programs where if you commit to work for them for X number of years after graduating, they pay your tuition. I know at least one hospital group in my area offers that.

I didn't know that! How much longer do you have? How are you liking the program so far? Are you working ATM?

A couple of the health systems do it here too, but i'll take that as a last resort. Its at least a 2 year commitment and i'm commitment phobic! But then again, if i end up leaving early, i'll just have to pay back what they gave me.

I'm going to snag myself a cute anesthesiologist
