Started with 320, then 400, 600, 1200. I never wet polished or used any sort of compound. In my experience, if 1200 doesn't have it shining like a mirror, it's not going to shine.

Thats fine if thats your style...but the results speak for themselves. Throw some polish on there.

i actually prefer the bikes to be quiet. sportbikes I love the sound of stock exhaust.

the HD i put on Bub's to get more oomph out of the thing but they are much more quiet then the Vance and Hines or other exhausts. not to say they don't make some noise but it's very low on highway and good until I really roll into it then it'll bark.

a full system is over a grand, bolt ons are a couple hundred, and new packing is like 40. I can only afford one of these...

Screamin Eagle II's. They are the 50 state street legal slip ons. Make a nice tone but not crazy loud.

I like my stock pipe...mostly cause it doesn't stand out on th GSXr. It is loud at high RPM's but not at slow speeds. I don't want to piss off my neighbors more than I already have. I think they installed a random stopsign in my neighborhood because of me. Ruined a great chicane around the mailbox area. Lol

Depends on the bike I guess.

My Hayabusa still has the stock exhaust. I use that bike for touring, and I do not want to hear that drone on the highway for an 800 mile day.

My TLR has a full titanium Yoshimura race system, and it sounds just right, albeit louder than I prefer for an around town bike. I don't ride it a *lot* these days, but it definitely gets heard when I do.. People 10 feet behind me don't like feeling the exhaust pulses either. LOL
