The choices should've been:
A: Hell yes B: This shouldn't even really be here because it's not a debate, yes again! |

Agostini didnt have traction control or any other electronics. this in my mind voids any bid vale might have for the crown

Not yet, but close.
Even when he surpasses Ago's GP finishes, he still wouldn't be the GOAT because he had yet to tackle and win the Isle of Man TT.

While I agree it's not an apples to apples comparison, Agostini raced against those w/o traction control or electronics, so the playing field was level in that respect, and Rossi raced against guys using the same hardware as he in terms of traction control/electronics. So for there own perspective eras I can't say they had a competitive advantage over their peers other than their own skills. For the record I don't like the use of traction control or electronics I like it old school but if I was piloting one of those monsters are the circuit I'd most likely feel different. |

That has come about in the last decade or so. While I think it takes some of the excitement out of it, Rossi has proven able to adapt. I'm sure if Agostini was racing today, he wouldn't refuse TC. Rossi won't reach Ago's 15 titles but I hope he stays long enough to get 123 total wins. There should be no doubt, Vale = GOAT.

I also think the competition is tougher now, with all the new technology, fitness regimes(think Barry Sheene), coaching, tires and machinery. Vale, hands down.
