I'm not exactly sure how it mounts based on that pic. Have you ever used the strap mount?

no, but my uncle did. I think it went underneath his tank or something, i really cant remember for sure, but it worked great on his old zx11r.
like i said, the magnets are super strong, i never had a use for the strap mount. Had this thing on the entire time at Deals gap and i i never had a problem with it. |

Right...the 'tank' aka airbox cover on the buell is plastic...which is why I'm selling my bag. I need a good strap mount.

The Held bag I had was pimp and it was a strap mount... Turano or something like that... it had a clip strap that ran through the steering head and clipped back to the bag, and had a flap that strapped to the sub frame under the seat and laid against the tank and connected via velcro. functioned as sort of tank protecter too...
