Default GSXR 250................lol

Well, after riding the 250 on the track @ Little Talladega we discovered how soft the suspension really is. So after some searching on the 250 forums I found the first mod. Installing an 07 GSXR600 rear shock on the little 06 250. Here are some of the pics of the project.

Took her out for a ride after the mod.................wow, what a difference. I def need to do something with the front forks now.

That's cool, how much modding/effort did it take?

Great. How much higher does the rear ride compared to stock?

Well the mounting holes on the Gxr are smaller so I had to drill them out. Had to file the bottom legs of the strut about 1mm so they would fit in place nice and snug. The top mount has a T bracket that has to be cut off in order to clear the shocks reservoir. The project took about 4hrs.

The ride is about 1 inch taller and nice and stiff

I vote you adapt some GSXR forks by pressing the 250 triple stem into the lower GSXR tree. it can be done, and isnt terribly hard I dont think.

I have a couple of friends who have GSXR front forks and triple to donate to this project. 1 is from a 07 600 and the other is from a 06 750. We will probably take on this project in 2 weeks. I just have to make sure she is ready for our next big track day in October @ Jennings GP.

Last Month @ Little Talladega.........wwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
