Rockslide has the road blocked/closed for the foreseeable future. Unless you go across the skyway and back across, you are fucked.

hanging out with my dad, he is in town just for that weekend. Dragon will most likely still be closed. I wouldn't come this way until you know for sure it is back open.

Here's my experience with Subarus: powertrain is bulletproof as hell and will withstand a ton of abuse (the last one in the family got well over 150k), BUT, if there's even the slightest ding in the paint and you drive anywhere near salted roads, get it taken care of the second it happens (ie YESTERDAY) or the whole damn car will rot out from that point. I'm not talking touch-ups to the paint, I'm talking bringing the sucker to a shop and having it professionally fixed (even the slightest dent). We have 50k on the clock of our current Subaru (a Legacy sedan) and it runs like the day it was new.

Engine change scares me unless they can prove that they did it just because and not "I was being a dumbass and blew the thing."

Take it to the Subaru dealer and get their opinion on the car before you put any money down. There will be other cars if this one is no good.

Honestly, I like the car. I'd have a subaru dealer check it out and give it a total clean bill of health, once you've done that, I"d say its a nice deal. from what I'm seeing, the motor was replaced pretty much when the owner decided to start building it up really.
So long as it was maintained properly and the owner didnt beat it like a drunken hillbilly beats his redheaded stepchild, you're good. |
