My daughters have one that we rent out. It's a 2009 that i've put an M4 pipe on and rejetted. My best friend's soon just took a WERE regional championship on his - pipe, suspension, jetting, ecu, etc.

The rentmyninja guy came out to the track a few times, he got out of it because he got an oil-field job that he couldn't pass up.

Personally, I think a Motard is more fun. But, I got the ninja because my daughter could get a motorcycle license before a car license if she was on a250. Done.

The series around me runs a 250 cup. Talked to a guy about riding one. You basically run WOT throught most corners, so its all about line and max corner speed.

Basically I'm too fat to race them....

My thinking with the 250's is that sure they are slow but as long as they are all equal, the racing should still be fun. I knwo what you are saying though, both our local tracks are horsepower tracks.

Our kart track has a run what you brung policy. I've seen a guy on a SV out there.

I used to race fiddys but everyone has stepped up to 150R's and I can't justify a $6k mini.

It would have to be a real series for me to run a $6k mini. True championship/points/trophies every race type thing.

My $1k fiddy is more than worth playing at deals gap a bunch of weekends each year though.

My problem with the 250 is to get the bike where it would be fun to ride, I could just race a damn 600 and not really spend that much more money.

That's why it is a spec class.

There is no "building" allowed. You run spec tires and are only allowed to upgrade a few parts on the bike (exhaust, rearsets, etc.)

It help avoid the insane modding and "guy with the deepest pockets wins". Sure it is a crappy bike, but so is every other bike on the grid!.

Spec classes are awesome. Plus, while adrenaline is awesome, I have a feeling a lot of people get a little sick of every twist of the throttle being a near-life changing event, amIrite? Slow it down a bunch and it's almost like you can watch the race you're riding in

I also think a lot of people have a little nostalgia for the bike they started on.
