What I hate is how must stock tires aren't wide enough to protect the rim. Can you say curb damage?
Also, who the hell really needs 19 inch rims on a hatchback? All they do is weigh more, attract thieves, and force you to spend twice as much on tires. |

I think it was motor trend that did a comparison test using different wheel sizes on a vw. I think it was the 16 inch wheels that perfomed best overall beating out the larger wheels.

I'm really tempted to buy a GTI, but the huge wheels it comes with look comical on a car like that. I'd have to toss them on Ebay. |

I'm with ya on the curb damage problem. I'm however, not with ya on the small rims. One of the things I love about the gti is it's huge rims.
And who does 19s anymore? That has turned into a bastard size and usually cost more than even 20s. |

But I just think it looks overkill on a short car like the GTI. Makes it look like one of those swimming pool toys, you know the things with big paddle wheels that you pedal? I would rather have some old-school BBS lace spokes, in 16" |

A service agreement, paying for wear items like tires? How many miles does your lease allow?

And it was a road hazard warranty, not wear item replacement.

I have road hazard on my hd tires that they aren't allowed to repair. And it's weird I always catch a nail at 4/32 cause anything under 3/32 is considered worn.
I have 18s on the hhrss and I wish they were larger. So needless I disagree with the 18s on the gti being too big. I think they are perfect. |
