For each breed, the natural tendencies are still there and need to be addressed no matter how much training you put them through.

Labs like to be service dogs, if they are worked that way they will be very happy and will act as trained. My friend's dogs were worked by retreiving golf balls and placing them perfectly on the tee after his dad hit them. They knew if they didn't place them perfectly on the tee they would get in trouble and you could tell they wanted to do it perfect. It was really cool to watch and we knew not to mess with the dogs during this time he spent with them. They would take turns fetching and would not go until commanded and only the one commanded would go. Very intelligent dogs.
I know this, we're on the same page dork.

I like the Akita and may get one later but we moved in to a new house in a new neighborhood a while back and decided to get a "mini-me" version.

We ended up with a Shiba Inu...great little dog but only about 28 lbs.
I plan to get a Shiba Inu later in life. Great dogs! I love Akitas but I don't think I will ever own another dog I can't lift by myself.

I finally got my wife talked into letting me get a dog, it isn't the sheltie I always wanted, but this one is small enough able to be a riding buddy. We applied to rescue a Westie.

This isn't the dog, just a stock photo of the breed.

I thought Akitas were the same size as a Husky? They're only around 60-80 pounds right? Never heard of a Shiba Inu :iunno:

Let me see: fancy GS with a Westie as passenger...... make sure you aren't wearing a pink t-shirt while taking the dog of the bike

am I getting banned now?

It's a terrier, it was used by the scots to hunt. It has a natural tendency to chase cats. I am voting dog. I am not a large dog fan anyway. I would rather have a mid size sheepdog.

nah, I don't really care about my masculinity. I'm married, I lost that a year ago. You could of caught me wearing a pink shirt on Oct 24th. Save the boobies.
