Never did update this. The Michigan Greyhound connection sent us a lovely card and told us they would get us another angel dog, just give them the word. We are holding off still. However, a quote that makes all that we went thru with Wayne worth it.

Quote:
A Greyhound Wish:
"When I die, let it be as a pet, so that someone will remember me."
The vet also sent us a card that was very sweet of them.

And its been 6 weeks and this still sucks.

It's ok to grieve. He found a special place in your heart. You made his final days the happiest ones of his life. He was free, and loved.

I lost a young golden that I adopted to a rare form of cancer. Max was an extraordinary dog. The hardest part was accepting that we did everything we possibly could. You feel so guilty, like we should have been able to save him. But we couldn't. My vet doesn't cry very often. When she called to let me know we couldn't save him, she was crying like a little kid.

Wow I'm really sorry Chris! Dude, I've been so busy arguing about stupid shit that I missed this! I hope that you and the Mrs, are all right. You're a good guy to open your home and your heart in this way. You have to take comfort in what you did for him and try not to dwell over what you couldn't do. Good Luck, bro!

I hear ya. You both convay the same message along with the greyhound saying. At least he died as a pet and not as a racer.

And, don't worry, he'll be at the Rainbow Bridge, tail wagging, bouncing, barking, and doing a little jig when he finds out you're on your way to see him. Then, you'll both get your wings.

peace

The "rainbow bridge"? Are you mixing Norse and Christian mythologies again?
