I rode a few hours to and from my Aunt/Uncle's place for Thanksgiving... Both at night... both nights COLD. It was in the mid-40's when I left and in the low-50's when I came back. Coming back really wasn't that bad, but I know going down I hit pockets that were ten degrees colder... Rainsuit over my mesh suit and I was ok, except my exposed neck. Balaclava is on my shortlist.

i wanted to ride today, but wanting and doing are two different things when its 20 out and snowing, and the roads are froze
