The Ram Mounts are reliable and sturdy. I personally wouldn't trust my electronics to anything else. Are you sure you want to take a chance on watching your GPS bouncing down the road behind you?

I have Ram mounts for my GPS and satellite radio. I'm a die-hard fan of Ram Mount products.

I've already lost a nice Garmin GPS/FRS unit last fall due to a failed mount.

I haven't looked up Ram Mounts yet, but I will Google them right now. In the meantime, this looks promissing to make one from.........

I should be good to go? This is just as cheap as the ebay link but I had no idea that the holder from them would be this secure.

I could just get this for the mount and put it on the bars for a MUCH cleaner look. I don't see why it wouldn't work with a u-bolt. ???

That would do the trick. Be attentive to where your gps would sit relative to everything though from the bar. You might need one of the extensions to get out of the way of things.

I use 2" (I think) maybe 3", extensions on mine. Puts everything exactly where I want them.

Yeah, the biggest thing that would help would to be able to have the bike here to take a good long look at and do some measuring. I'll try to work on that this weekend when I put on my tinted sheild.
