Pri'i? Seriously, Pri'i?!? You've just done the impossible - taken driving a Prius to a whole new level of pompous.

WTF..........and i have never heard any news mention a remedy like..............apply brakes.
That guy did apply brakes, by the time the police got to him, they were smoked up. They eventually slowed him down by putting their car in front him and got him to turn the engine off.

Probably because he was too chicken to slam on the brakes and keep them slammed (instead of riding them real lightly for miles, which makes them fade)

They work for a time. If the driver doesn't press the brake pedal hard they will eventually overheat and stop working though. Of course there is usually the "I was hitting the brakes as hard as I could, but it kept on accelerating" statement which always makes me wonder if the driver was using the right pedal.

This statement almost always indicates pedal missapplication.

It's typical American behavior.......Blame your own incompetence on a bigger entity in order to save face (or win some money).

Don't any of you remember the bullshit Audi acceleration thing? Well it was almost 25 yrs ago so most of you wouldn't.

I remember it and it was the first thing that came to mind when this Toyota stuff started. Anytime I hear about "unintended acceleration" I think of that which hunt.

I was going to say, amazing how in just a generation we can forget such valuable lessons as those learned in the Audi debacle.

I've driven a Prius / Camry / Corolla / other shit box Toyota. It doesn't take a hell of a lot of brake to slow these anemic cars down. Ridiculous. I wonder how many people are intentionally running their cars through their garage doors to cash in?
