45 min commute, so just over 16 days a year if I went every weekday. With vacation and holidays, I probably average around 14 days or so.

10 miles, 10 minutes each direction. 5 miles of highway, 5 miles of surface streets. If the highway is ever backed up there is a handful of surface routes I can take that would add no longer than 5-10 minutes to my commute.

I hate traffic with a passion. That's why I moved away from Seattle. My commute there was 45 -60 minutes each way to go 12 miles... FUCK THAT. I was ready to go postal on motherfuckers.

I would hate that too. I hate my commute some days...30-60 minutes but not quite as bad since that is for around 27 miles.

How is that possible?

10 miles in 10 minutes is 60mph non-stop.

No way you are doing a constant 60 mph without stopping on surface streets. If you average 45mph on the surface streets it would take almost 7 minutes from the highway.

Are you able to manage a constant 91 mph on the hwy in rush hour traffic?

Surface streets are a 55 mph limit, flow usually runs about 60mph. The highway is a 70mph limit and the traffic flow is 80-90mph. I spend 1/2 mile on 35mph street, that is the slowest part of the drive.
