However, the majority of people (I think I heard it's above 70%) are opting for the non-secure id. I think the difference is the "secure" id has a bunch of your personal information encoded on the barcode on the back so your id can simply be scanned to prove it's real or some shit.

I haven't heard of this and I just had my license renewed in January.

Actually this is just for a standard DL or ID card in Florida.
