All joking aside, I'm really feeling sorry for you guys. You just aren't used to this sort of thing and your towns aren't prepared for it. We're sitting here with probably 90% of the snow budget unspent (though we should be finally getting some over the next week), but we're used to it.

I once damned near wrecked my car because some idiot plowed his parking lot's snow into the street, so I've got little love of those people.

Where I am isnt too bad LI/ NYC was prety much spared in the first big storm, we got about 8-10 on the second part of the storm and just a few inches yesterday.

heard on the radio some smaller towns in jersey blew their entire snow budget and will have to make cuts elsewhere to offest those costs.

I've seen even worse pictures from that year in Newfoundland, but couldn't find them today.

During our record 1999 blizzard the City of Toronto borrowed some in-situ snow melting equipment. Rather than just plow, they also melted the snow as they passed.

I find it hilarious that they spend weeks cleaning up a snowstorm down there, lol.

I went to college in Oswego, NY - we'd get a snowstorm and one day the snowbanks would be 12 feet high - you'd go home, go to bed, and wake up and the snowbanks would be gone (carted away with bobcats and dump trucks). It was pretty insane how quickly they'd clean up that city.
