Poutine is a Quebec thing. If you think that the French from France have a corner on the "clog an artery" type food, then you've never seen what a Quebecois can do in the kitchen. Poutine is French fries with chunks of cheese curd melted over them by piping hot gravy. The industrial stuff like what you get at A&W up here is OK, but the best is bought from chip wagons along the side of the road; massively thick cut fries with gravy and fresh curd
