Yes currently our dog is 79# according to the foster vet. he's eating 5cups a day and gobbles it fast at 2.5 x twice a day. But I guess that is normal for track dogs till they realize they will always be fed and calm down about it.

Not sure about that. I'll ask him.

Thats pretty damn cool GM! I love the retired Gh's we see a few down this way as there is a dog track not too far. The only "bad" thing I've noticed in the shelters with these dogs is their incredible shyness with people, but they are so loving and sweet, and those eyes just suck you in! Congrats and thanks for adopting!

So now you have a huge lazy dog, and another huge lazy dog that can run fast if it wants to? Perfect.

Congrats man.

lmao.

im actually looking to get a dog myself in the fall. adoptions not really an option though considering that i have a cat that i dont want to give up and im pretty much set on a bull terrier. the puppy years and socialisation is gonna be fun but MAN it would be cheaper if i could adopt :P

I've been thinking about getting a dog as well. The roomie and I have maintained a single cat household for the last 10+ years, but since we lost the kitteh back in November, I've been looking at options.
A dog might be a nice change of pace, and lord knows I could use a buddy to encourage me to get out and exercise.
