So is it just chrome that has a problem? I guess chrome flakes are thicker than paint flakes? Because I haven't heard of anybody with regular-painted wheels who experienced this problem.

The guy at the shop said it was a common occurrence in MI. Oh and I found out the OEM wheels are 6.5" wide and these Konigs are 7". Does that matter?

Powdercoating would last longer than paint, from what I heard. But, it doesn't look as good as a decent paint/clearcoat job.

Hmm, 55 series is quite a high profile these days.
Me personally, I would switch to a 225/50, it would give you 10mm more tire width, and it would lower the car by about 6mm (not a noticeable difference), and stiffen the sidwall a bit (since lower-profile tires are stiffer). Plus it's a more common size, so you would have more tire choices. |
