I don't call a hobby accessory that was only purchased in order to allow her to participate in one of her BF's hobbies a "gift". Especially when that hobby is something she has no intention of pursuing herself.

If your GF rides horses and she bought you a saddle or whatever so that you could join her in her hobby, would you take it with you after breaking up? Even if you had no intention of riding horses ever again? That's just cheesy, IMO.

Agree completely, which is why I kept the jacket and helmet that I had bought for my ex to wear. I never officially GAVE them to her and they remained at my house the whole time we were dating. Combine that with the fact that I paid for them, and I say they're mine to keep. They're nothing I would wear, but I'll keep them as spares if someone else rides with me.
