I need to go visit Austin one of these days. If and when I leave Vegas, I would like to see if Austin would be an option to move to.

Cali is expensive to live. While the housing is coming down, the rent is about the same, you pay 400 bucks a year to register a 20k car, 800 a year to insure it, gas is 3 bucks a gallon, income tax is 10%, sales tax is 9.75% and tickets are 400 bucks for speeding 5 over.

Here's the thing. I'm getting into talent agencies. Of course there are agencies everywhere blah blah blah, i've heard it. But if you want to be somewhere, its at the Big 4. Like I said in a previous post, they are located in LA, NYC, Miami, Memphis, and LV. NYC is too cold. Miami is too humid. Memphis is all country music related, blah. LA is kinda my choice over LV, because it is basically talent Mecca. Sure it is overrun, and overpriced. But if I make it past the first year and get my agency card, that wont matter.

Vegas is a back-up. The talent is a little different. And I have seen some nice neighborhoods in LV when poking around the internet.

Move to LA.

You'd be in poontang heaven. Granted that it's slightly more expensive than other states but it's primo stuff.

You'd been in riding heaven. You can split lane, you can hit the twisties in Malibu, in Mt. Baldy, in the San Gabriel Mountains, by Lake Elizabeth/Lake Hughes, down in San Diego, North County, Temecula, Idylwild.

You'd be in track heaven. California Speedway if you want smooth surface & fast course, old timey style up in Willow Spring or Buttonwillow. New track in Pala down further south.

SCUBA diving the Channel Islands is second to none.

Oh yeah, and the beach weather is cool and refreshing.

SoCal rocks. I grew up there and love it. Traffic sucks but you'll get used to it. If it was me I'd live closer to the beach like Marina Del Rey and leave Culver City the fuck alone. Stay north of downtown and you should be ok. Huntington Beach is nice but it's too close to Long Beach. If you go east, again, stay to the north of I-10 and preferably close to I-210.

Thanks for the advice! There is a bunch of medium priced stuff right in downtown. Like right across the street from the Staples Center and the convention center. But I'm thinking I want to stay closer to the agencies. East is too far. If prices are relatively close, Im thinking why spend the money on gas and wear n tear on the car.

So are you moving here without a job? The economy here sucks...and Hollyweird outsources alot of shit to New Zealand or some offshore place like such. There have been a number of people who moved here in the hopes of "making it big" but are gonna be sadly mistaken cause CA will suck you dry money wise.
