If you have heard "Southern Accents" then you haven't been to Atlanta. Most people who live IN Atlanta aren't even from Georgia. Infact it can be hard sometimes to find someone who is even from America.

Here is what I tell people interested in Atlanta or the area. For motorcycle people. you are roughly 3 hours away from Deal's Gap and about an hour away from Deal's Gap style twisties. If you like History and cool towns then you are 4 hours away from Savannah and also not far away from the beach. We have some great mountain biking trails, great shopping, great kayaking, some good hiking trails. You get a FULL four seasons but warmer springs, summers and falls.

Jobs. Everything has slowed down now. But Atlanta (When I say Atlanta I mean the city and 50+ miles away from the actual City) has just about anything you want.

Phoenix: People bitch about how hot it gets here for 2 to 3 months of the year but what they don't understand is after you become acclimated, it really does NOT feel that bad. I'll take the hot over that bullshit white stuff any day. I know people who don't enjoy the heat or who just visit for a couple of days don't get that, but, its true. Other than that, there is year round riding here, awesome roads, you're a few hours from the ocean if you want to see it, mountains everywhere, you can drive 2 hours to visit snow in the winter if you'd like, and now that the housing market is correcting IMO, awesome homes are very affordable. And while it is the desert, you're 2 hours away from VERY non-desert area.
I LOVE Phoenix... if i wasnt moving to LA id pick phoenix.

-its a dry heat, not the sticky muggy shitty heat on the east coast from ohio on down to florida. The problem is when it gets like 125... and you run from your house to the car fast.

-the mesa, phoenix, scottsdale area is nice...

-year round riding with glassy smoothe roads, unlike the craterholes they call roads here in ohio....

-No grass to mow

-Vastly different climate and landscapes across the state. Desert vs mountainous coniferous forrests in the north

-like she said.... a couple hour drive to hotspots in cali, skiing in the moutains

-What people dont understand is other than 63 days or so of pure hotness, it is pure heaven the rest of the year...

Never been to ANY part of TX... but pretty much anyone south of the southern SD border has a "southern" accent. So yeah... you do.

I didn't hear that. How can you guys spend so much time convincing me it's safe in the water and then say that.

I think you are going to hate any of those choices after living in Austin.
I picked Jacksonville because of the potential I see in the area. There are decent beaches, downtown river area, san marco, st augustine and all kinds of beautiful fun places. And great people
Then I picked Jacksonville Beach because I'm a spoiled monkey.
Having a job I would consider a big plus. Jacksonville Airport does not run 24/7 like Atlanta, Las Vegas and Ft. Worth.
Atlanta would be cool, but more expensive and VERY crowded. Traffic kind of sucks here too, but NOTHING like Atlanta.

I went for Atlanta because I intend to come back here where ever I go.

Let it be known was have huge highways, and we can also clog the shit out of our huge highways. Traffic does in fact suck here but I grew up here and I am rather used to it. Any of those cities would be good with me, if you have no bias then aim for the best job you can find and follow that route.

I chose Phoenix just because I don't know anything bad about it.
Could it really be any worse than Ohio? Other than I'd be in the city rather than the country. That alone, I probably wouldn't survive.

Vegas. I live here now. We got year-round riding and the Cali canyons are only a few hours away. That and anything you need is available at any time on any day. And the housing market sucks out here (good time to buy).

Phoenix... I LOVE hot weather... and mountains mean good riding

but winter time means old people... as they all head down from the north.... so lots of RV's

I've always wanted to live in Phoenix though...
