Front wheel drive + high hp = CV shaft spitting out of the transmission.
Just a guess though. I hope it's not that ugly.

yup his scuby is 4wd, and I dont think Ive ever heard of a wrx loosing a front CV.
From the total lack of info and his rather BS answers I'd say he hit a curb and folded a wheel down
