Ok...
Uma... She likes the look of the Nightrod, but not the feel. The Iron is not enough upgrade for the work... Only remaining option is the Nightster. Unless she wants to get sporty on the XR? As for Gas, I'm at a loss. I know the Rocker C would be a huge step back, BUT, I know it will be air cooled, it will be american made, and pretty sure it won't be a trike. GMan loves throwin the sparkies with hard parts. As for all the cool custom chopper shit, well, we should all know better than him buying one... hes King of the DIY motorcycle stuff. |

Well bottom line... allow me to explain my reasoning and amounts for the trades...
Ok... so last year I started out with a bang when I revealed the Phoenix Chopper. It was an awesome acomplishment. Then had some problems with some electrical connectors which I fixed. Then the ignition fail, which I replaced. I had heat shields rattle loose, causing a constant retightening of them being an irritant. The trans nut came loose and had to be re-torqued and loctited (again). The open belt seem to cause more vibration. Even though all of this happened, it was still a BLAST to ride. The power, the look, the sound, everything was just jaw dropping. But I was done... had nothing more to do to the bike. Then it came to the fact that either by bruised "mental" reliability or not wanting to ever take it anywhere for multiple reasons. Whether it is due to not wanting to get it wet, people screwin with it causing me to shoot them, or whatever. Coupled with the pending doom of EHC failure, top end rattle, this or that. put all of that in the back of your mind. Its a shame... a damn shame that in this economy. They are currently selling mostly stock used bikes around $18k. I had about $15k in aftermarket into the bike, that you normally get nothing out of. So what's a good trade in price? $15k stock? Anything for the aftermarket? So lets throw the line out there and see if we get a bite..... We start talking... the sporty trade is easy. Strip it down and take it in $7580 trade in value (actual trade would be about $5k), this all under the HD promo till the end of this month. We start moving numbers on the chop. I wanted to clear enough money on the chop to cover the cost of a new bike for me. So the back n forth starts... $18k, show them pics... $19k... I push the "I buy 2 new bikes card". $20k.... nope... still need more boys... $21k. That is about $7k over normal trade which is about 50 cents on the dollar for the aftermarket stuff. Plus no selling hassle... we make the deal Many can't believe it and few can understand my desire to keep up change. So I stripped all the sportster aftermarket off cause they won't give me anymore on this promo... Then its just a matter of what to buy at this point and locating the exact unit in their stock or dealer trade. So at least now you know its from an HD dealer. They picked up the bikes and now we wait with an empty garage... Will update the exact picks when they come in and I have pics. |
