Loud Horn Safety System - "Screaming Banshee"
Hi guys,
I wanted to post about a safety product I invented last year and see what you guys think about it. It's a loud horn that installs side by side with your stock horn allowing you to use both with one button. Just tap your horn to "beep beep" the stock horn or hold down the horn button and a super loud "Banshee Horn" kicks in while (optionally) pulsing your headlights. Check it out: http://screaming-banshee.com/ Your thoughts? |

How many accidents happen because someone didn't hear the bike's horn?
I think it's a clever idea, but in reality I see it scaring drivers into a "panic stop" and creating a dangerous scenario rather than avoiding one. If somone turns left in front of me, the last thing I want them thinking is "train?!???" and coming to a screeching halt. |

That's alot of money for a weak-ass horn. The stock horn on my BMW is louder than that thing. I don't know why BMW is even listed on that site.
Stupid feature = the *friendly* beep beep of the stock horn if you want it. What? If I'm hitting my horn, it's not a gentle reminder, it's a HEY I'M HERE YOU ASSHOLE kinda thing.

People need to understand that the horn isn't a plow... it doesn't blast the cars out of the way.
That being said, I think it's a nice system. |

Also the system isn't by any means a "weak-ass horn" it's rated at 139db out of the trumpet. That's the equivalent of a jet engine's afterburners at 30 meters which is definitely not very "weak" sounding. You can hear just how loud it is compared to a stock horn here. The first sound that you hear is the stock horn just before the Banshee kicks in. That being said, you don't always want your horn to wake up the whole neighborhood. There are many times where an air horn would be inappropriate. That's what makes the system the best of both worlds. However of course, the system is not for everyone. That's why the horn is available by itself without the control unit too. |

And with the side by side action I'm tempted. Also tempted because of so many teenage bitches on the hiway txting. I need that 7 horn system for THEM...get up beside them...see them txting and blast that biache!
