Default Helmet Speakers

Anybody have them? I'm looking to get a set and need some input. Oh, and I really don't care whether you ride with or without music and the safety factor. I enjoy riding with music sometimes, but my earbuds are a PITA.

My starcom1's suck. Above 45-50 you can't hear even with a boosteroo. I think the Scala G4 ones are suppose to be good. I am probably going to buy a powerset for me and andrea.

You can't beat ear plugs if you want to hear the music at any speed. I put some of those over the ear type in my helmet. Id have to turn them way up to hear on the highway. 1. That just drains the battery faster. 2. Having to wait for a stop to take my glove off the lower the volume became annoying rally quickly.

I have a cheap pair of foam earbuds from radioshack that work pretty well.

heard great things about that with a set of their speakers, it also does audio prioritizing, gsrf, cb, intercom and a bunch of other stuff.

if u want just speakers, no comms, then ebay has a few sets(search "helmet speakers"), havent tried em but they look the part. otherwise buy a chatterbox headset and cable, bout 30bucks altogether.

i have a chatterbox, and i either play the music thru that, or they make a adapter cord that goes from the headset to the music source, completely negating the use/need of the actual chatterbox unit. i like it waaaaaaay better than ear buds or headphones. sounds better, doesnt fall out while riding, dont have to worry about them getting pulled out when putting helmet on/off, etc etc. never had to max out the volume, which is bad for your ears btw, and although its probably helmet dependant too,(i have a scorpion with a chin skirt, nothin fancy) the wind noise only starts to equal the music at around 100+mph. with the headphones, once i hit 50, music was nonexistant

Ok, here's what I did. I went to Walmart and got a set of $10 over the ear speakers. I had some velcro at home

I cut the ear loops off, attached the velcro, and attached in the spaces between ear pads.

Ran the wires out under the cheek pads

Took a couple of pieces of the velcro and made it so I could roll up the cable and store it when not in use.

In my office, it is too loud when cranked up. I will give it a road test this evening and report.

nice n cheap, i like. should work good

hard to tell from the pics, but maybe if you ran both wires to one point and then exit the helmet, might be neater/less cluttery. that way wires arent coming out both sides of the helmet when its in use. just my opinion

just curious, u wear a arm band or just leave the mp3 player in your shirt or pants pocket?
