Canoe Trip Pics
Went on a 15 miles journey down the Susquehanna River - North Branch last weekend. I've been doing this for about 15 years with my Dad. This is the 2nd year I took my dog.
The put-in spot. I was in the river about 10 feet from shore, thanks to a very excited 4 y.o. Yellow Lab named Manny. Camp site on day 1. We had 14 boats, 28 ppl. So clearly this is only part of the group. Sun setting on the face of the mountain. My boat and paddles 5 of the 14 boats A very tired dog. He got out in the swift current of the river and wound up about 200 yards down river. Then had to swim up river to get back to the island. But he's one hell of a water dog. Guarding the boats. Sun set on the North Branch Put a flag on it. Manward and Uncle Ray after some swimming On alert Saturday's camp. Manny was tired so he dug himself a hole and went to sleep My tent on the left Dog is OUT Fishing hat Manny laying on me in the tent Sunday morning...Mantrell still worn out

Time to pack up. 1.5 miles to go. Manny needs to play first.

I did a three day canoe trip on the Susquahana probably 30 miles north of Harrisburg when I was a kid (over 20 years ago). Looks like you all had a good time, especially Manny.

@goof. I've done that same stretch. Last weekends run was near the NY state line.
@ebbs. I know a few good spots around here. |

Down here you could cook a turkey in the tent between noon and 6pm from now until early September. My Memorial Day weekend camping adventure was as hot as I can stand it in a non-climate controlled setting.
