I've always wondered why all of our developers do this shit. Drives me nuts - I feel like I'm talking to a bobble head and not a person.

Seems to be the gesticulated equivalent of the Japanese "hai" that they say all the time...it looks like "yes" but it just means "uh-huh, I'm getting all this".

My personal experience with this indicates that they really don't get it, they just bobble their head and then fuck things up and come back and ask a million questions at a later date, usually just days away from target completion. *sigh*

We have one weekly conf call where there's people from our Bangalore office participating, and no one on the call understands just what the fuck they are saying. "What was that?" can only be asked once or twice, and then the call organizer just gives up and says "OK, thanks, moving on....".
