Default any runners?

I've been dieting and dropping lbs, but haven't done much exercising...

I tried walking/jogging/running, but can't get too far before my knees, ankles, and shins start blowing up... So I bought a bike... I can do way more - burn more calories and get that same high, without destroying my joints... And it's way more fun...

So why the fuck would anyone run?

For fun. People enjoy it, but it is a very high impact exercise.

People like it a lot, I do it to keep in shape, but u don't find it enjoyable.

I you'd are having knee or ankle problems, try running on a trail or a dirttrack, much less impact on your legs and ankles, also look at the sites you are using, they mighty have tool much or too little cushion. And I would bet your form sucks, probably slapping your feet on the floor with each step

Yea fuck running. Not good on the ole knees for fatties like me. I either bike or blade. I choose blading more because its specific hockey training for me. Dont ask me to foot race, but I can out skate people 1/3 of my weight.

The only time I run is in the winter on a treadmill. Much less impact.

That knee injury from the fiddy probably really fucked up OSP and running.

Knee injuries can pretty much fuck up any interest in running. My wife will use the elliptical instead of running because of her knee issues.

I really wouldn't advise anyone with a bad knee injury to run without consulting a doc to see how much abuse the knee can really take. You can really fuck yourself up for later in life if you continually abuse joints that can't take it.

Yep, my right knee's been fucked for 10 years or so... my right ankle has had issues and then I shatter my left kneecap... And I'm carrying around an extra 80lbs or so... not really built for running...

That said, bachelors party last night in Daytona... musta walked 10 miles... the hardware in my leg is fucking killing me... I think I'm going to take them up on the offer to have it removed... The screw through my tibia is all fucked up...

I have 6 Screws in mine...And yeah...Running is out of the question for me at the current moment. Breaking your leg takes the desire out of it after your bone heals.

I'd much rather Bike...You can go further quicker and get just as good an exercise.

I'm with you on that. I only run if chased by a dangerous creature... and it better be a large one at that.

I started running again in January after a 9 year break and I love it. Been training for my first 5k. I have been "barefoot" running though in vibrams and I notice a big difference in form and impact. You really can't pound on the pavement without all that cushioning like you can with big cushy running shoes. So in theory it should help with not getting injured. So far its been working for me. Of course you will find people that think otherwise though.
