Ha, sadly pretty accurate.

Yep
It took getting it on audiobooks to get everything through the current book shoehorned into my brain. I still have to cheat and read the wiki sometimes to keep things straight. Not a series for lazy minds.

Seriously, keeping track of the minor houses reminds me of trying to memorize all the names of the bones in the wrist/hand. It's an exercise in futility, until you get it wrong enough times to finally have a general idea.

So in other words pretty much like any book written by Niven and Pournelle (and maybe Barnes) where there are so many characters that you end up flipping back to the list of characters in the front, to see why you don't remember who this guy is who just died in some horrible and memorable way, only to find that he'd have been credited as "Guard #3" if it had been a TV show.

Hoping season 3 is much better than the bulk of 2. Things didn't get good until the last few episodes.
