Default Fay.......

= hooky day!!!!!!

We're in the midst of T.S. Fay right now.... Both of our companies closed today, which means we stocked up on a ton of food and a ton of beer, and prepared for the worst.

What we GOT, however, is some rain, a little bit of wind, and a nice relaxing day off.

Awesome, glad it didnt turn out too badly for ya'll. I know we're expecting to get quite a bit of it on Saturday, but then again, the way these things change, it will flip and head south again!

I guess we haven't ACTUALLY gotten the worst she's got to offer, since it spent most of the day literally STATIONARY just south of us. We've gotten a couple inches of rain, some good squalls, and now it's been pouring pretty steadily for a couple of hours. Winds around 40 mph (I guess gusts around 60 :shrug) but no limbs down (we have a ton of huge old trees) and while a transformer blew earlier in the day, we literally only had a power flicker, never went out.

We're close to the river and a big lake, but we're up on a hill, so I don't think flooding will be an issue where we live.

Hopefully she'll have petered-out before she makes it out your way!

This storm just comfirmed how retarded most people in FL are. Everyone was FREAKING OUT over nothing. Wal-Mart was amazingly fucked up and crazy... Publix was a disaster... Home Depot was a gigantic clusterfuck...

Granted, flooding in some areas was bad (not here in Orlando), but I had numerous people (even managers) calling out of work over a few inches of rain and the threat of 50mph winds. I've been through worse storms in fucking Ohio...
