Parsons Branch to 129 via 4x4 (pics and Vid)
i took the afternoon to sit in traffic and tourists to finally ride parsons branch, if u have never been on cades cove loop the scenery is amazing but the road is full of ppl that should just be taken out of the gene pool, imagine 1-2 mph for 11 miles.. enough to shoot yourself, but when i finally got to exit the road and hit the branch, it was well worth the wait.
after driving for about 2 miles i got behind this big suv that was going at a pretty good clip and we finished the rest of the road in short order, the video doesnt really give a feel for how tight it is. since its 8 miles long it just seemed to keep going, some of the water crossings were enough to get the front end of the jeep off the ground, i didnt try to video that, seemed dumb enough to drive those speeds with one hand on the wheel so i wasnt going to push my luck any farther http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/l...=Video0003.flv http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/l...=Video0002.flv after that i headed down to the store and saw some locals, chatted with then and then left for the overlook, NOT ONE CAR!!!! i made it from the store to the over look in 16 mins, i will never attempt that again, was a blast though http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/l...=Video0002.flv http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/l...=Video0005.flv http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/l...=Video0001.flv sorry the vid is crappy, damn cell phone camera

i love that road, it's more fun to get there on dual sports because you buzz the tourons in cades cove.

the one "hill" you had to go up was pretty impressive, was rutted out and knocked my radio loose and now it only works .5 of the time was prolly the highlight, that and fish tailing around some of the corners
went fishing yesterday on the pigeon river, wasnt bad caught a few smallies, the rain kinda messed up our plans though had to work later and couldnt make it out to the spot we wanted to hit

I rather take the DRZ on that road, it's smaller and can get around cars easier in cades cove. Plus it's more built for that type of riding. I have already done it a few times on the DRZ.
