12" long razor blades? The kind you shave your face with? That's not something you see very often, so they might have mistaken them for pens or something. Aren't they pretty thin and straight?

Watch the video, they are foam carving blades. The fact is, he had them on his person when he went through their new scanner and he got on the plane with them.

I dont find this to help the cause of ridding the TSA. They'll just tighten up security even more.
