Default New Truck Day!

The wife and I have been shopping around for new trucks for the last few weeks. All of the new trucks are nice, but for 35k+ we just couldn't stomach the payment.

So we picked up this jem today instead. It's an 85 C10 Silverado, 305 w/ 144k, all original with one respray in the factory color. The paint and interior are perfect. Air blows cold and this thing drives better then some trucks 10 years newer. I had a 87 K5 and really like these trucks. I'm stoked we got this one!

Nice truck man. I have worked on many of those over the years, but it's been a while since I have done anything with them.

Haha

I plan on leaving the 305 in there till it decides to punch out and then replace it with a 350.

I suppose.

I've heard plenty of stories about these engines, but have never seen one fail. Hopefully this one stays strong for a few years.

Thats a nice condition 85...and its nice to see 2 GMs in the stable. lol

The 305s last long, but they are known to wear out cams. I would suggest changing the oil with synthetic. It will stick to the cam lobes better during startup.
