Default My latest project

Hey all, I haven't been on much lately (other than to check the smileyman forum )

Hope everybody is out riding and enjoying this early Spring. This is the type of stuff I've been doing...

Before...

After

I built this chair to go with it

I saved a bunch of money on the fire pit. I used the bowl off an old $30 firepit, stacked the stone, and put the bowl down in it. It just lifts out for cleaning

I also wanted candle lanterns, but they were $25 each = $150 for the set. So I went to the camping section and got old oil lanterns for $5 each. I sprayed them with hammered metal paint and filled them with citronella oil to help keep the bugs away

I've done lots of projects, but I am most proud of this one.

Very nice work!

Do you have any special woodworking tools or are you doing it by sawhorse and circular saw?

Not for a project like this. Most of this was just time and good old labor. The ends of the beams were cut with a jigsaw. The posts with a circular saw. A hammer drill for setting the post anchors, levels, drills, and lots of screws. That's pretty much it
